Vi er fuld gang med de sidste forberedelser til premieren på Symbiotic den 15. maj, med scenografi af fantastiske Benedikte Beate Hansen (hun/de)

@benediktebeate arbejder med scenografi og kostume indenfor teater, dans og opera. Optaget af tematiske skæringsflader imellem køn, arbejde og retten til egen krop, udforsker hun scenografens rolle som facilitator med ritualet som en metodisk ramme. I møder mellem følsomme materialeundersøgelser og store, rå greb på rum, findes en særlig interesse for objekter og handlingers efterladte aftryk og koreografi.
Benedikte Beate tog afgang fra Den Danske Scenekunstskole i 2023 med en BA i Scenografi og Kostumedesign. Benedikte Beate har tidligere studeret Modedesign på Designskolen Kolding, hvor hun færdiggjorde sin BA i 2018.

The proces of installing my work "Dryade III: Daphnes Forvandling" for 24 Hemmeligheder at @teaterzebu.

The work is inspired by the myth of Daphne, a nymph that is transformed into a tree to escape the god Apollo.

The installation takes the shape of a tunnel of semi transparent textiles manipulated by latex and glass beads to tell the story of Daphne's transformation.

I could not have done this without the help of my wonderful partner @olentosi who helped with everything from tying secure knots to preparing the glass beads that were sewn into the fabric once it was hanging.

A behind the scenes look at the proces of making my installation "Dryade III: Daphnes Transformation" for 24 Hemmeligheder at @teaterzebu.

From sketch and experiments to constructing the foundational structure of the installation to producing the 14 hanging textiles.

The installation takes the shape of a tunnel of semi transparent textiles manipulated by latex and glass beads to tell the story of Daphne's transformation from humanoid to tree.

A peek at my installation "Dryade III: Daphnes Forvandling" for 24 Hemmeligheder at @teaterzebu.

In the coming two weeks these five artists are coming to kick off the creative process of their upcoming performance 🌊 WASHAWAY / After The Low Tide. They will work collectively with scenographic, somatic and sound materials, finding ways to let their watery universe emerge.

Benedikte Beate Hansen @benediktebeate is a scenographer working with set and costume design within theater, dance and opera based in Copenhagen. Her artistic practice uses ritual as a methodological framework and explores the scenographer in the role of facilitator. With a particular interest in the dramaturgy of objects and actions in space and the traces they leave behind, Benedikte Beate is concerned with thematic intersections between gender, work and the right to one’s own body.

Anne Sofie Stubbe Lindeberg @annesofielindeberg is a performer and choreographer based in Copenhagen. Her artistic work is centered around space, spaciousness and intimacy from a feminist perspective as she uses dance and voice as her tool.

Nanna Koppel @nannakoppel is a performer exploring the intersection of video, body, and technology. Through their work, they investigate contradictions within the body and reality, seeking political and activist potential in shifting perspectives.

Dance artist Lenka Vořechovská @lenavorech is occupied with dance dramaturgy, dance writing, expanded performance formats and the art of working collectively. She likes to facilitate collaborations and diverse creative processes. While focusing on the intersection of nature and culture, she is curious about diverse somatic and artistic practices that make the
practitioners and/or observers shift their state from the daily one to one that allows and invites restfulness, complexity and compassion.

Exploring themes of collective care and connection, utopia, escapism, intersectional feminism, and interspecies communication, multimedia artist and sound designer Ester Grohová @expand_collapse creates hauntingly beautiful soundscapes that oscillate
between ambient and experimental through the use of voice, field recordings, clarinet, and other instruments.

The residency is supported by @culturemoveseurope & @ministerstvokultury

Dance artist Lenka Vořechovská @lenavorech is occupied with dance dramaturgy, dance writing, expanded performance formats and the art of working collectively. She likes to facilitate collaborations and diverse creative processes. While focusing on the intersection of nature and culture, she is curious about diverse somatic and artistic practices that make the
practitioners and/or observers shift their state from the daily one to one that allows and invites restfulness, complexity and compassion.

Exploring themes of collective care and connection, utopia, escapism, intersectional feminism, and interspecies communication, multimedia artist and sound designer Ester Grohová @expand_collapse creates hauntingly beautiful soundscapes that oscillate
between ambient and experimental through the use of voice, field recordings, clarinet, and other instruments.

In the coming two weeks these five artists are coming to kick off the creative process of their upcoming performance 🌊 WASHAWAY / After The Low Tide. They will work collectively with scenographic, somatic and sound materials, finding ways to let their watery universe emerge.

Benedikte Beate Hansen @benediktebeate is a scenographer working with set and costume design within theater, dance and opera based in Copenhagen. Her artistic practice uses ritual as a methodological framework and explores the scenographer in the role of facilitator. With a particular interest in the dramaturgy of objects and actions in space and the traces they leave behind, Benedikte Beate is concerned with thematic intersections between gender, work and the right to one’s own body.

Sucking, drooling, crawling.
