UPDATE: Pre-orders for cookie boxes are closed to allow the bakers time to prepare their cookies. There will be extra cookie boxes at the event to purchase on-site if you missed the pre-order window!

Excited to announce the inaugural LA Gingerbread House gallery and bake sale! On Thursday, December 11th, stop by @dannydsmudshop from 5-9 pm to see some amazing gingerbread houses designed like iconic LA landmarks and made by some of LA’s best bakers: @catalinaawinemixer of PanHead LA, @sashimi1 , @jonjon33 , @erikaachan of Kato, and @clemencegourmandise of Petitgrain Boulangerie!

Each baker (including yours truly) will have gingerbread houses on view, and they will also have gingerbread cookies in boxes for sale. All proceeds will go to @lafamilyhousing , which helps people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services.

Beverages will be provided by @twhollisterco and @drinkbalo, and I’ll be making some savory snacks as well. A big thank you to @ivnatx for this wonderful poster!

This one of my favorite recipes I’ve ever developed: Stuffing Cornbread. Instead of baking cornbread just to let it dry out then mix with aromatics to make my Thanksgiving dressing, I bake all the aromatics into the cornbread from the start. It streamlines the process so that’s one less thing to deal with on the day of the holiday.

Fresh garlic and sage, dried rosemary and thyme, and Better Than Bouillon chicken stock base (though you can use any powdered bouillon too) give the cornbread that savory “stuffing” flavor I want, but in much less time. Serve a wedge at your Thanksgiving table this year and see if you ever miss the old way of making stuffing/dressing.
