Ground Tours is a temporary exhibition of fieldwork by Tributaries (Ying-Lan Dann, Geoff Robinson, Saskia Schut, Justine Walsh, and Benjamin Woods), undertaken in and around the University’s Parkville campus. It features audiovisual works and an accompanying poster series made across three stormwater drain grills.

CLAY HAND-BUILDING, SOUNDING AND LISTENING WORKSHOP with Slippery Silt (Kate Hill and Ben Woods)

WHERE
Ceramics hand-building studio, School of Art and Design, ANU, ACTON Canberra on Ngunnawal Ngambri country.

Friday 17th April, 2-5pm + Saturday 18th April, 9am-3pm.

DETAILS
Please join in and participate in a collaborative forming process, working with clay hand-building processes to build large-scale sculptures with inner walls, compartments and tunnels. These spaces and structures will be guided by the use of microphones and recording devices to listen to the channeling of air, breath and percussive touch. The collective making, sounding and listening will be accompanied by group readings related to weathering, the collective activity of ants, and more. Possible outcomes include collectively devised sections of unglazed low-fired ceramics, drawing/writings, sound recordings, hand building skills and forming practices.
