Words of Affirmation (if possible), a 4 color riso printed photo book featuring photos I’ve taken between 2016-2025 :’) will be debuting this weekend at Available Works.

This book has been the center of my life for a while, been working on this for quite some time and never really thought I would ever finish it. The last two years have taught me so much more about life than any other years have, they’ve been the hardest, best and inspiring. I feel strong, and this book is a compilation of my life and the things, people and places that have made me happy.

The title has had many different iterations, but I settled on this after finding this post it from a breakup talk with my ex scattered in the old film photos, and it just seemed perfect.

Hi! We wanted to reintroduce ourselves for our new friends and followers ! We’re battle jester, a design and risograph studio based in greenpoint, Brooklyn.

We take commissions for anything that’s fun and cool and a little weird (printing photos and music related content is our fav)

Sobre o vazio de todas as coisas investiga o vazio não como ausência, mas como uma matéria sensível de construção de sentido. Transitanto entre Salvador e São Paulo, o projeto cria conexões simbólicas entre espaços, objetos e realidades culturais como o mar e o asfalto ou o barco e a moto refletindo sobre pertencimento, fé, ambição e deslocamentos emocionais. Ao aproximar gestos e ambientes que não se encontrariam naturalmente, o trabalho revela o vazio como um elo silencioso entre diferentes experiências vividas. Ao final, o vazio se manifesta menos no que é visto nas imagens e mais no estado emocional que permeia sua criação.

On the Emptiness of All Things explores emptiness not as absence, but as a sensitive material through which meaning is constructed. Moving between Salvador and São Paulo, the project creates symbolic connections between spaces, objects, and cultural realities such as the sea and the asphalt or the boat and the motorcycle to reflect on belonging, faith, ambition, and emotional displacement. By bringing together gestures and environments that would not naturally meet, the work reveals emptiness as a quiet thread linking different lived experiences. Ultimately, emptiness emerges less from what is seen in the images and more from the emotional state that surrounds their creation.
