(More than) Human Computation 💦🔉🐚

Cymatics workshop inspired by the pioneering work of Margaret Watts Hughes (last image). We explored how sound can give shape to matter - tracing how vibrations organises material into patterns, echoing the forms we find in nature.

Gallery day with Year 1! 🌟

We began at the Serpentine with The Delusion, where Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley invites visitors into an immersive game world exploring polarisation, censorship and social connection, followed by Peter Doig’s House of Music, a new project reflecting on music, film, sites of communal gathering, listening and creative exchange.

At Alison Jacques, Maria Bartuszová: The Butterfly Effect examined how life and art are interwoven with nature’s cyclical processes.

Then on to the AA School for The Word for World, mapping Ursula K. Le Guin’s speculative landscapes; and finally the ICA for the Frieze x ICA Artists’ Film Programme!

A full day of discovery, walking and conversations ✨🩵 @camberwellual

Home is a dwelling path, 2025
Interactive digital game, bunk-bed structure, ceramic bowl, and live one-to-one performance.

My degree show work merges an explorative 3D environment with physical install that mirrors its digital textures. Visitors navigate fragmented virtual “homes” built from personal stories on screen, constructed from their memories of home using personal images and found material on the Internet.
Together, the virtual realm and its tangible counterparts invite reflection on how we build and rebuild our sense of home across both emotional and physical paths. After gameplay, participants are invited to come up to the top bunk for an intimate “Pillow Talk” conversation, to tell their own home stories and eventually develop the digital space further.

Annual mudlarking trip! 🌊🦴💞

As part of our current unit, which focuses on spatiality and curation, we take a collective worldmaking approach—exploring emergent storytelling, material encounters, and how objects carry histories, relations, and latent narratives.

Drawing from Ursula Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, we collect found materials and let their quiet, entangled histories expand. Through curation and multimedia documentation, students explore how new meanings can be assembled and how speculative narratives begin to take form.

This year we’re lucky that the unit coincides with the brilliant FORESHORE show at SET Woolwich @setsetsetsetsetset —a group exhibition that explores personal and collective connections to bodies of water and the central lifeline of our city: the Thames. 25 artists explore the river’s rich materiality, symbolism, and social significance, inviting us to see it not just as a site of history, but also of ritual, reflection, and resistance. Huge thanks to artist and curator @evatitherington for the very special tour!

This edition of the foreshore walk led by @ninonatomicsuperstar was also part of a series of workshop supporting the development of experimental game design collabs between @ma_faca and @ba_computationalarts for @nowplaythis at @somersethouse 🎲

Students from BA and MA Computational Arts (@ba_computationalarts) at Camberwell College of Art (@camberwellual) will be presenting interactive game prototypes they have made as part of a collaborative worldbuilding project produced for Now Play This Festival (@nowplaythis) at Somerset House (@somersethouse).

Now Play This is an annual festival of experimental game design and this year’s theme is “Folk Games: The Stories We Play Together.” Over the past 2 months students have built projects through experimental processes led by some fantastic visiting tutors -

Chooc Ly (@chooclytan) explored speculative geographies around Camberwell, Dr. Eleanor Dare (@eleanordare70) introduced fictioning and worldbuilding methods using lego and synthesisers, course tutors Ninon Ardisson (@ninonatomicsuperstar) developed narratives through mudlarking on thames foreshore and Max Dovey (@maxdovey001) explored improvisation methods in Live Action Role Play and TTRPG.

The students have responded by developing diverse experimental interactive games that explore a range of topics such as mental health and emotional literacy in young people, intimacy and loss in rave culture, performing non-human sentience and navigating ecological balance in the age of the Anthropocene. Ticket link is in bio (the event is now sold out!) but keep an eye out for any returns!!!
