Seeing the outpouring ofmessages, beautiful words & memories shared of Chris the past week has been so so heartwarming through a heartbreaking week. My deepest love goes out to @sarahmay_brown , his close family and friends at this difficult time. I met Chris just over 10 years ago after so many people said “you should meet this guy”! And the bond was immediate like so many of the stories I’ve read of late - just solidifies what we know about Chris. His effortless cool and genuine human touch was infectious. Photographer @dhughesstudio new exhibition ‘IMPERMANENCE’ explores his obsession with digital memories and how they may be manipulating reality. “A smiling picture might hide a difficult day”, he tells us, referring to automated slideshows foisted on us daily by our phones. That became the starting point behind this body of work, now on show at @awaykin . A must see if you ask us!

Photographer David Hughes presents his latest collection of personal work, in exhibition at Awaykin.

Impermanence is a body of work informed by resurfacing memories and phone notifications following the end of a long relationship.

By reworking these Fragments, Hughes forges a visual language of grief and transformation, turning yearning into a form of healing.
