As women, especially plus size women, we are always taught to cover up. We are taught to strive to be thin. We are taught to wear specific clothing based on our body shape. We are taught that if we aren’t thin, we aren’t worthy.
I have let my weight/body hold me back from so much in my life, so many experiences with friends and so many memories I could’ve had. I’m tired of it, I’m tired of letting the fear of people not approving of my body decide how I live my life.
We only have one life, so we need to live it. Wear what makes you happy, do what makes you happy, and if other people don’t like it? Screw them, the only opinion you should worry about is your own. In this world we are so caught up with what others think that we are losing what makes us, us.
Anyway, these are from a shoot I just did with @boudoirbyashley and I’ll be honest, I was terrified to do it because I am insanely insecure about my body, and tend to try and hide it most of the time. BUT this is one of the most empowering things I’ve done, it has helped me start to appreciate what I’ve seen as flaws. I highly recommend doing a boudoir shoot if you’re feeling uncomfy with yourself, and I highly recommend booking with Ashley, she’s such a lovely soul!!!
