„It always starts with nothing“
Wait for the final result…

Every piece begins in silence.
A blank surface, full of possibility.
Then it gets messy.
Layer by layer, it evolves — guided by instinct, not perfection.
Until everything falls into place.

How would you name this artwork?

Just filled up my very first sketchbook 🖤

Every single page, every line, every mistake and small win — all in one place.
This one feels extra special though. My third sketchbook, but the first where I committed to using only Japanese ink from start to finish. No shortcuts, no switching tools — just pure, raw lines and learning to embrace the unpredictability that comes with it.
Some pages are messy, some feel unfinished, others I actually love… but that’s kind of the point. It’s not about perfection, it’s about progress, consistency, and showing up again and again.

I’ve been thinking a lot about where this connection to ink and line might come from. Growing up, our home was filled with traditional art — hanging scrolls, delicate fans, pieces I didn’t fully understand back then. I’m not even sure where exactly they were from, but they left an impression on me. Maybe this is my way of reconnecting with that quiet influence, in my own interpretation.

Here are a few glimpses from the journey. 📖✨

On to the next one… 🌵

Artwork Name: “Astrological Kiss, 35,5 x 28 x 0,5 cm, acrylic pouring on canvas, 2022"

Submitted By: Anna Kuzaj @ateliercollide

Featured In: 100 Emerging Artworks 2025 Edition

Artist Statement: "This painting is my first acrylic pouring. Created during the covid pandemic, it reflects my experimentation with new techniques and the freedom of letting go of expectations. The calm and serenity of being fully present in the moment—without worrying about the final result—opened new perspectives for me in the creative process. In this work, I also see two souls meeting in a kiss, a symbolic image of connection, intimacy, and unity. It represents a broadening of horizons, a release of perfectionism, and a step toward allowing creativity to flow freely."

Important Note: All rights to the featured artworks belong to their respective creators. The artists retain full ownership of their work, and we do not claim any rights over them

Part 3 – neue Kakteen 🌵 ✨
