For the final, whatever happened, I wanted to have some fun and create something that captured this incredible ten month journey from scraping through against Fredrikstad to a season none of us Palace fans will ever forget.

One of the highlights was handing out hundreds of stickers and freebies to Palace fans as we walked to the stadium. (There are still a few left, and I’ll be putting those online next week for free) But the piece of Palace memorabilia that gave me the most pleasure was working on a well over due custom CPFC flag.

For the ultimate crossover, I drew inspiration from my love of Napoli and a remarkable flag I first saw a pixelated image of years ago. It’s been sitting in my inspiration folder ever since waiting for the perfect occasion.

The original flag ‘That Boy from the Curva B’ was created to celebrate Napoli’s one and only European trophy, won during their glorious Diego era in 1989. It’s an iconic piece of football culture that I wanted to pay tribute to it in a Palace way.

It also felt right to honour one of Palace’s friendliest spokesmen from the last twelve months, @docbreezy88 So I reached out to a new football friend @travisrt and he worked his magic to recreate the spirit of that famous flag in 2D form.

In the tradition of the great flags and banners of Italian football, we will be releasing a small number of framable 75cm silk versions next week. They won’t be a lot, just a little keepsake to remember a truly special group of players, a team that has given this club and its supporters an unimaginable amount of joy, memories, and belief.

Some seasons are unforgettable.

This one deserves to be framed.

How do you put into words what Crystal Palace and Wednesday night’s win means to you?

For me and my mate James, this journey started long before Leipzig, long before Vengaboys corner kick celebrations, and long before European football finally arrived at Selhurst Park. It started years ago, following Palace through everything. The highs, the lows, the heartbreaks, the brushes with liquidation, and all those moments that somehow kept us believing there was something special around the corner.

When Palace qualified for Europe, it felt surreal. The sort of thing we’d joked about in the pub had suddenly become reality. So when those European nights arrived at Selhurst, we made sure to enjoy every second because, like most Palace fans, we didn’t know how long it would last.

After months of singing “We’re on our way”, we finally were. Standing there, it all made sense. Everyone we met had their own story about how they’d managed to get there. It felt like half the fanbase had somehow found a way to one of the hardest places in Germany to reach. Yet somehow, we all got there together.

The moment we arrived, we were surrounded by thousands of red and blue shirts. Everywhere you looked there were smiles, hugs, old friends catching up and supporters living one of the best days of their lives.

Supporting Palace has never really been about trophies or glory. It’s about belonging. It’s about finding your people and sharing the ride together.

That’s why Leipzig felt different. For one night, everything came together. It felt like a reward for generations of Palace supporters who never stopped believing a moment like this would come. For those who followed Palace through every twist and turn, the families who passed their love for the Eagles down through generations, and the supporters no longer with us who live on through our memories.

Over the last twelve and a half months, Oli and the lads have given us adventures we’ll never forget. But when I look back on this journey, it’s the fans I’ll remember most. They’re the reason nights like Wednesday mean so much, and the reason I love this football club as much as I do.

‘We love you, we love you, we love you!’

With the World Cup just weeks away, we've put together the perfect squad to bring you this summer's number one football show.

@astorelike94 & @oof_gallery, in partnership with @thearthouselive, are proud to present a first-of-its-kind exhibition featuring eight artists from Chicago/Accra-based @deadlypreygallery. Celebrating iconic footballers in the rich tradition of Ghanaian hand-painted movie posters, 'Fantasy Football' is two years in the making and features masters of the genre whose work emerged during the late 1980s and '90s with the boom in Ghanaian mobile cinema culture. Local artists including Bright Obeng, Stoger and Heavy J were commissioned to create posters to advertise the screenings, and their bold, wildly inventive paintings kickstarted a movement that went on to gain international recognition.

The paintings in 'Fantasy Football' continue the tradition, taking their titles from modern documentaries about footballing superstars, while reimagining the players as comic book characters, action heroes, gangsters and ancient warriors. Full of joy, steeped in humour and heavy on nostalgia, these paintings offer a timely antidote to the blandness and greed found in so much of the modern game.

Join us at The Art House from 6:30 PM on Thursday 11 June for the PV followed by a screening of the World Cup opener. Full details and free tickets in our bio. ⬆️

On the pitch, there are plenty of twists and turns still to come, but off it, I'll never not get goosebumps seeing @wrightyofficial wearing one of our tees ❤️ Happy Days.
There are still a handful of the DragonBall Eze tees left on @astorelike94 (would look good being worn in budapest imho ) so get them before they're gone. And keep your eyes peeled for Part III of our ArsenalxManga mash ups. Coming soon....

Artist Showcase 005 • @foot_pott

Towards the end of the year, I brought together a dream team of creatives to celebrate the magic of PES (Pro Evolution Soccer). Around that same time, I connected with a new maker known as FOOT POTT from Japan and from there, everything else fell into place.

Alongside showing off FOOT POTT’s work at the exhibition we hosted at the @thevolleylondon last December, I caught up with Yuta the face and creative force behind the new brand to dig a little deeper into what he’s been building over the last couple of years.

We talked through his evolving football pottery process, what inspires him, and a few of the ideas shaping this new ceramic chapter….

Head over to the blog section now for the 5th instalment of Artists Showcase to discover more about the Japanese ceramic artist and his drive to one day get football pottery in every football fans home across the land.

* Most of these one-of-a-kind pieces are also be available now through the web store (shipped from the UK)
