Calling all UNLV PHOTOGRAPHY GRADUATES!

We are pleased to announce the open call for Interlude, a photography-based group exhibition being held at the Jessie Metcalf Gallery from August 25 to October 24.
Interlude is an exhibition showcasing the artistry of photographers graduated from UNLV, curated by an all-woman team of UNLV alumni. The show welcomes the endings and beginnings that come post-graduation.
Who can submit:
→ UNLV Photography graduates
Deadline:
→ EXTENDED - August 17, 2025 at 11:59pm
Artwork MUST be photography-based. Installations are permitted but are limited by size. 3D sculptural work can NOT be submitted. Multiple submissions are allowed, one artwork per submission and up to three submissions per artist.

And that’s just what’s reported!!!! I personally know 3 men off the top of my head that were comfortable telling me about their experiences. Think about the men who don’t report because they are ashamed or they don’t realize they were a victim themselves. There is a double standard I’ve seen when it comes to male and female sexual assault that I do not agree with and isn’t spoken about enough. I have witnessed men be asked if they are gay simply because they reject a women’s advances. I’ve also seen men politely decline and still be groped and touched in a way that makes them uncomfortable BY WOMEN. I took inspiration from the video for the song “Papi” by @todrick and I used that to showcase the aggressive nature of assault I’ve witnessed done by women. Much love to both models for allowing me to use them to create this series and trusting me in my process •••

This series of black and white portraits I photographed to show the essence of various dancers active in the battle scene in Vegas. Living in the South my whole like I always say people here do not have a community where you look out for one another. You don’t know your neighbors and if you’re in a bind people here do don’t stop to help you like they do back home. With that in mind the dance community in Vegas while it isn’t as close knit as it could be there is a strong foundation that I admire that comes from dancers just wanting to dance together and enjoy their love of dance in together and it a beautiful thing to be apart of •••
