A central tension in his work lies between the aesthetics of the “unmediated” — handheld, vertical, seemingly spontaneous content — and a precise directorial approach that turns apparent chaos into structured narratives. The recipe for a great, now-super-famous political campaign, is showing something real, maybe imperfect, but honest. It started with @subwaytakes and @kareem, and it continued with the mayoral race for NYC ending with @zohrankmamdani victory. We are glad to host director @anthonydimieri in conversation with @simonasiri on May 12th. They will discuss new ways to film a story, The Bronx, Italian Americans in cinema and, of course, our Mayor.
Doors open at 7:00 PM. Talk begins at 7:30 pm and we will show many videos from DiMieri’s work.
