This film was perfect in that the process was the film in a lot of ways, at least for me. The experience was partly the story of the life of making it and the end result felt like a personal reflection of something yearning to be learned about ourselves. Tensions between ideas of escapism, embrace, feeling trapped, letting go and the distortions of feeling were all things I explored and reflected on observing Ariana’s experience having their sibling pass away only months before. To feel through something so immense is an abstract journey that words don’t seem to quite embrace.

I love the idea of intentionally creating to process feeling. Touch and movement make more sense to me than concepts. I’m so grateful for these times, for this kind of collaboration, and this approach to art and living 🕊️
