I am deeply honored to receive the Catalyst Award from the Michael Latt Legacy Fund at New Media Venture's Changemaker's Showcase for my film "When They Come For Us."

When I first heard about the tragic loss of Michael Latt, I was struck by the immense impact he had on so many lives. Witnessing the countless people he touched through his work was truly inspiring. What truly stood out was the sheer number of women and people of color whom he so deeply impacted. So many people I look up to in the social justice space saw him as this catalyst for change.

Michael Latt's work has been a profound inspiration to me, and being recognized by a fund that carries his legacy is incredibly meaningful and humbling. I am committed to continuing his legacy through my work and am grateful for this opportunity.

I want to say thank you to @sundancesatter and @newmediaventure team for fostering this space and bringing together all these amazing filmmakers. And thank you to everyone who has supported and continues to support me on this journey!

A lot of the patterns we find ourselves repeating in life, are due to trauma we experienced as kids. We find ourselves trying to fix the wounds in ourselves through the relationships we have in life.
