More food at FON this weekend for Simon Bradley's DYCP sharing event Magnet Opus on the spring solstice.

Image 1 - kale, chickpea, beetroot and toasted hazelnut salad with my homemade Berbere spice blend. (Image credit @trocheursula)

Image 2 - fresh egg tagliatelle with wild garlic pesto

I must crack on with this recipe book!!

Mystery box of components for the boy from the tech genius Chris Ball. I wonder what we'll get out of Juno this time?

Happy days! @en_hakimNick Hakim's new album Cometa. One of my favourite artists of all time. This is just beautiful. What a brilliant end to a brilliant but exhausting week.

Finally getting round to doing this. Recipes from the Full of Noises Kitchen. Do let me know if you've enjoyed the food we've served at FON. What did you eat and when? What was your favourite. I'll try and remember how I made it (that's why I'm making a recipe book, so I don't forget!)

First attempt at collography. Pretty chuffed with my little walnut (in case you couldn't tell what it is 😂)

Yesterday I thought I'd make myself a nice little beanie hat from some pure wool and alpaca blend yarn I bought in a charity shop years ago. I made it from a memorised pattern only to realise it was a kids' sized pattern today, and only after I'd finished it and tried it on. I can't see my 4 year old granddaughter being into this colour or style but if you have a 3/4 year old that would like an orangebeanie hat DM me 😂 it's super soft!! (Don't put it in the washing machine though).

My favourites at FON this year - I don't have enough images, I was always too involved. Maggie Nichols and Dan Johnston blew me away, not just in their performance but when they joined in with our Flowfal session with Simon East the next day. We put on so much for young people in 2025, starting with Juno's Inventive instruments workshops, all the ⚕️ FF we did with VSBD, Tom Culling's summer workshops, the amazing workshops and events we did with The Knotted Project and Tiiva, then amazing ghost train creations with Mark Williamson and John Powell Jones.
I think for me, despite how incredible our concert programme was/is,the incredible talent we're nurturing within our own community through workshops, opportunities and solidarity is the absolute gem of Full of Noises. What we are doing to encourage the next generation of experimental musicians and innovative thinkers, this is what it's all about.
I love FON, I love hosting as if it's my own home, with food and attention to detail, with love and care. I've been amazed by all the artists we've had. But honestly what beats a 12 year old deciding to put a contact mic in a pannetone tin for no other reason than why the fuck not??
