For about 2 years, I pieced together the visual scape of a project that will come to be known as ‘Before The Morning Light’ by the amazing Johnny Drille.

I can’t possibly put the experience into one caption but on Friday 15th May 2026, the night the project dropped, I was in a reflective mood and thought back to the first artwork i ever designed.

it was when i was in kindergarten, i had made my first ‘album’, but the process was backwards

i remember first designing the artwork, then i wrote a tracklist, then i started forming melodies and lyrics to match the artwork.

now, many album covers, self written and self produced songs later, i’m creatively and visually directing a super album for a super artiste and it feels now like it felt then; like i just know what im doing.
