My latest voices show is dedicated to Thomas Lawless Pardhy.

To see the outpouring of love for him, and the effect he had on so many people across East London and beyond, is both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. This is true of all the best music we loved and shared with one another, and everything featured in this show. For me a lot of the songs signify growth and rebirth in the natural world, and I wanted to create a journey that speaks to that. The cover photo is our tomato plant that was potted and gifted to us at the pub, the day we found out he passed away.

I’ve not really experienced grief much in my life, and I want to thank our beautiful children for holding us through the pain and helping keep our feet grounded.

There’s no way around in this life, only through, and I’ll carry the wisdom and love he gifted us always. The world has lost a bright light, but his legacy shines on. Rest in peace Tom.

Was back on @voices_radio last Friday morning, link up top if you wanna listen back.

Had my brother in mind when recording this one as he was travelling up to my grandparents on the Isle of Lewis last week so it’s mostly tunes I thought he might like. I was meant to be going with him but life/work got in the way.

Dug through some old iPhone clips from my past trip up there way back in 2019, don’t have much recent supporting content that isn’t my children at the moment anyway.

The @will_memotone track is particularly special for me, one of those artists that seems to be there in special moments in life. Our daughter was 10 days ‘late’ and I listened to the LP that track is from during a hour on her first day on earth whilst Rosie was asleep and Joni lay on my chest. Grabbed my phone to check the name of track, couldn’t stop crying. Stumbled on the track by Spool titled ‘Joni’ a week or so later.

Magic, transcendental things happen with music and ripple through my days so I’m grateful to all the artists, and big thanks to any of you out there that listen xx

The stage is truly a special place on the site, and it was such a joy to do something you love in a place that means so much.
