Deep Love Sales: Pops Of Time (2025) 💛🍿💛🍿💛🍿💛🍿💛VATHKIA AGAPI a ‘Charlie’ (An English-Cypriot slur named after Prince Charles for Cypriot immigrants of the UK) was developed to create a ‘Foreign’ trope that enabled accessibility between Greek and English speaking audiences in Cyprus and placed the immigrant Cypriot Identity at the forefront of what it means to be foreigner - and what it means to be Cypriot?

The ongoing colloquial expression that Cyprus is the ‘Texas of Europe’ reminded me of an observation my dad proposed, where he said that languages in colder countries had shorter vowels in their speech, and those in hotter countries have more elongated ones due to the need for taking a breath, expelling heat from their body.

Though intuitive as a choice (referring to the countless hours singing Elvis as a child) I developed a ‘SOUTHERN VERSION’ with slow pauses, elongated vowels and um-ing, empathising with the idea of being somewhere hot, like the core of the Earth and challenged the voice of a colonial veil that narrates our history.

Acollection of video works that explores fermentation not only as a biological process, but a radical logic of transformation across biological, social, digital and infrastructural realms.

Bringing together practices that queer ecologies and infrastructures, the works unsettle fixed categories of function, identity and usage. Within them, relationships unfold between bodies, machines and more-than-human agents, proposing cross-species intimacies and alliances that resist extraction and mastery.

I joined @royaldrawingschooloddy25 last year so that I could feel safe in my vulnerability again. Our extremities (hands, legs, head) are the anchor points in our body that hold the tension of the stress we are navigating.Drawing and writing disentangle the truth of what is stored and soothe the tremors in my hands, heart and mind.

I am so lucky to have had a structure and community of artists, mostly of intergenerational women, who supported each other remotely from our homes internationally and returned me to a state that embraces the way I record.

For most of ODDY, I was drawing from my bed, then my balcony, sometimes my floor and rarely a desk, a rotational strategy of stations following the trajectory of the sun in my home for its warmth on my body allows me to wonder when in work without the tendency of its collapse. Drawing from my bed to prevent flare ups means that most of my work is documented on it, which like the bed light fixtures or bed frames in past project’s continues to inform how my drawings/films/sculptures are held even in public.

🦷Teething is the natural process that babies and children go through as their teeth break through the gum line causing discomfort and tenderness as they erupt. While it is extremely painful to deal with the effects of teething, it is a necessary developmental stage. 🐚

The introductory text to the reading in 📸 4. was written on one of my first days alone in the sea with close to flat- ankle high wave conditions a few months after an almost fatal car accident. I was relearning to trust my body in an unpredictable mass of water and feel the impulse of a 🏄🏻 waves push, I let the text sit till 2025 where I needed a swimming partner and felt ready to navigate its depth. 🌊 For my residency at Beyond Disdance, a Festival focusing on crip work I began Teething Mam’s baby steps. The work was presented as an informal object-assisted reading and drawing/movement workshop. 

Teething mam 🌊 meditates on water as an intimate body through the experience of surfing. Expanding and abstracting the complexities of this practice, it seeks its own redefinition to construct a multi-tonal voice grounded in ecofeminism, ableism and autofiction.

🦷Teething is the natural process that babies and children go through as their teeth break through the gum line causing discomfort and tenderness as they erupt. While it is extremely painful to deal with the effects of teething, it is a necessary developmental stage. 🐚

The introductory text to the reading in 📸 4. was written on one of my first days alone in the sea with close to flat- ankle high wave conditions a few months after an almost fatal car accident. I was relearning to trust my body in an unpredictable mass of water and feel the impulse of a 🏄🏻 waves push, I let the text sit till 2025 where I needed a swimming partner and felt ready to navigate its depth. 🌊 For my residency at Beyond Disdance, a Festival focusing on crip work I began Teething Mam’s baby steps. The work was presented as an informal object-assisted reading and drawing/movement workshop.
