During our recent trip to Crete we walked the Samaria Gorge 'the lazy way:' walking up from Agia Roumeli to the Iron Gate at 7am in the morning. Needless to say it was magical: nobody there, only two rangers with horses walking up like us and a few goats on the way to the National Park (swipe right).

Agia Roumeli is a charming little place in breathtaking scenery and beautifully quiet in the evening when the thousands of walkers have disappeared. I filmed their exit from the ferry at Sougia on the way back. It was a magical stay!
