Hey! This is @adameast here taking over the BZF account for the day. Im a Brooklyn based artist and designer, and a lot of my work re-contextualizes Black American archival material into new formats.
As a designer, Zines have always interested and inspired me. Since going to the first Black Zine Fair, I’ve met so many talented creators that have now shaped my idea of what being a publisher means. I’m grateful for this space that the organizers have created, and to be included again this year. I hope y’all come check me out at table 90 on May 9th! See you there ✌🏾

“Untitled (Malcolm)” (2026)
48x72in UV Printed Ink on Bubble Wrap, LED Lights, Aluminum
This work will be on display at my show “Handle With Care”, which opens this Saturday, May 2nd.
The double sided collage features archived family photos laid out in a grid, behind a photo of a hand cut collage in white ink.
I grew up seeing people in my family create these big photo collages for our loved ones, from a bunch of 4x6in prints - so this is my homage to that practice, but re-imagined as a 4x6 foot version.
Opening Reception:
Active Space Gallery, 3-8pm
566 Johnson Ave, Brooklyn NY
I’ll see you there 🫡

I was too locked in at the fair and forgot to take more pictures, but the @blackzinefair this Saturday was amazing 🔥
Thank you to everyone that stopped by! I saw so many familiar faces and friends throughout the day, and met so many cool new people. And especially a big thanks to the organizers of the event @sojourners4justice for making this possible once again, everything about how it went was so great.
I shared my second edition of the Black history tees book. 4x5in laser cut acrylic, with 64 pages. So happy with how it came out😭I have a handful left, dm me if you want one.

“Yearbook Scribbles” (2025)
Inkjet & UV Printed paper, 11x17in
I made this zine using photos of my grandfather’s college yearbook. I thought it was interesting how the scribbles throughout the book - seemingly random and childlike, maybe had some sort of method to their madness? Idk, probably not, but I thought it was cool
Will have some of these @blackzinefair this Saturday!
Find me @ Table #90, 11a-6p

Happy First Friday! Step into the exhibition “Looking for America” to explore the textures and materials that bring us into consciousness. Today we’re highlighting this work by Adam Easterling, “When I Look Back” (2025). Printed on bubble wrap, it pairs fragility with protection, suggesting memory as something both cushioned and vulnerable.
Congratulations to Adam on opening his first solo show in New York City tomorrow!

I’m having my first show!! On May 2nd, I’ll be sharing some of my bubble wrap pieces for the first time in NY. Hope to see yall there 🫡🤞🏾❤️ Come pop a bubble, pop a bottle, and pop out!!!

Very excited to be included in the group show “Looking for America” at the @ogunquitmuseum next month!! Alongside some amazing artists that I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years. This will be my first time in Maine, first time having my work in a museum, I can’t wait 😮💨
Looking for America brings together
@hankwillisthomas and artists who have worked alongside him, highlighting the power of creative communities-artists lifting one another up, sharing visual languages, and generating new meaning through collaboration. Their works engage history, memory, and culture to pose the exhibition’s central question: What does it mean to look for America, and whose America are we seeking? Looking for America suggests that America is not a fixed destination but an ongoing search-one that becomes collective, reflective, and, through these intertwined practices, joyously generative.
This exhibition is co-curated by Helen Banach, Kalia Brooks, and Devon Zimmerman. (Thanks!!)
