Scrolling back through my photos, this one grabbed my attention and told me it needed to be posted. The beautiful Bicycle 140th Anniversary deck with Bicycle Foil Back Emerald is such a striking deck combo for a flower, don’t you think?

This photo was taken by the talented @r_smith_creative at the annual @52plusjoker convention last October, where I displayed all my flowers. If you’re a playing card lover too, you need to join this club of like-minded people who get together once a year to celebrate all things playing cards. This was an EXTREMELY SPECIAL custom flower, ordered by the fiancé of a man by the name of Aaron, whom I met at 52 Plus Joker last year… This is a boutonnière for him to wear on his upcoming wedding day, made from a prototype deck his late father designed. This is such a unique way of having his father at their wedding, so I used the Ace of Spades for the leaves to feature his name “L.A. Solórzano” as it sits on the groom’s chest near his heart.
The court cards from this deck were so unique that I decided to feature them in a separate flower, which I sent as a surprise gift for the couple. The detailing around this flower’s base is the first of my flowers to showcase the deck’s tuck box.

I’m still so honored by this request; thank you for trusting me with such a treasured deck!

As each suit in this deck boasts its own unique color pattern, the flower petals have been arranged by suit in each layer, so that specific colors peek out from underneath as the flower is tilted. The centermost ring of petals subtly show off their blue backs made of the Club cards, the next ring’s petals are from the Diamonds, then the Spades, and the outermost petals are made of Hearts.All 5 leaves are serrated and curled- made of the Court cards and feature at least one of each suit.
