My team and I at a.b. design are here to bring your unique story to life with seamless execution and meaningful details.

A little bit about me:

-Former teacher turned full-time wedding planner. What can I say, I love love (& a color-coded planning binder)

-Avid skier with questionable talent-give me snow or water, I’m strapping in and hoping for the best

-Born and raised in Colorado- when I-70 was just mildly annoying, not weekend ruining

-Raising my 2 toddlers to be preschool's biggest Blink-182 fans

-Above average hockey fan, below average hockey player

-Lived and taught in the backwoods of Vermont for 6+ years- sipping syrup and shredding ice was quite the life

-My husband and I have built two homes ourselves- I only agreed to it so we could rock matching Carhartt overalls every weekend

-Cooking for others is my love language- baking, on the other hand, is my kryptonite. I prefer flavor over fractions

My favorite thing about being a content creator is feeling the love between a couple in how they smile and laugh with each other. These two are partners in life and in business and it was such a joy to have the opportunity to capture them. Yes, this was a styled shoot, but their love is clearly authentic and contagious.

One year ago, it all started over coffee at Bardo.

After randomly running into each other for the first time in over a decade, we sat down to catch up and ended up talking about the Denver wedding community we both love so much. Along the way, we realized we shared some of the same frustrations: high barriers to event societies, pockets of exclusivity in the industry, and wedding expos that were overpriced but always underdelivered.

So we asked ourselves a few simple questions:

What if networking was low-barrier and open to everyone?
What if wedding expos actually showcased the talent of wedding professionals in a real, inspiring setting for engaged couples?
What if there was a welcoming space for vendors who just wanted real community and camaraderie?

Instead of just talking about it, we decided to try to change the game.

One year later, we’re so grateful for every vendor, couple, collaborator, and friend who believed in this idea and helped turn it into something real. This community is exactly what we hoped for, and we’re just getting started.

Cheers to year one and to building something better together.

This was a special one. From the beginning, Carley was the kind of bride planners dream about: decisive, thoughtful, and incredibly prepared. A color-coded binder that rivaled mine. Detailed checklists with graphs & perfectly placed visuals.

But on the wedding morning?
Not a single checklist in sight. Just Carley, relaxed and laughing with her girls while getting ready. I’m telling you, she’s really a planner’s dream.

Ten minutes before ceremony time, the Colorado weather acted like Colorado weather. A massive thunderstorm rolled in.

And when we asked what mattered most, her answer was simple:
marrying Josh.

So we pivoted.

Groomsmen piled into the beds of our trucks, the bride and bridesmaids tucked safely into cars, and we made the quick trip down the road to the ceremony site. Damp chairs were quickly cleared away and guests gathered close, standing together as the storm rolled in around us.

What followed was one of the most intimate ceremonies we’ve ever witnessed.

Guests circled around them, close enough to hear every word of their vows. There was laughter, tears, and the kind of quiet that gives you goosebumps. We knew we were witnessing something special.

By the end, their people surrounded them with prayers and sent them into their next chapter together.

Not everything went according to the original plan.

But the result was something even better:
a ceremony that felt intentional, present, and deeply personal.

The reception kicked off with the most energetic surprise round of Thunderstruck. That set the tone for the rest of the evening.

From there the night unfolded exactly the way the best celebrations do:

family dance circles
margaritas being cheers-ed on the dance floor
the kind of laughter you only share with camp friends you’ve known forever
dancing dinos
and decades old stories shared around the fire pit

A perfect balance of honoring the past and celebrating everything still ahead.
