If I were sent off to an isolated island and restricted to just one camera for the rest of my life, I would very likely choose a Leica M. When I rekindled my love for film photography 13 years ago, it was only because of the beauty and simplicity of this camera series, which clearly peaked with the Leica M3, M2, and M4 (to all the Leica M6 lovers: yes, I know, I know - but someday, you may understand). There is a reason this camera series has been in continuous production for more than 70 years. Since my black Leica M4 from 1969 is the most beautiful of them all, I’d say she’s my favorite camera. I bought her in Hamburg a few years ago, and it was love at first sight. She has never let me down and will never
