𝐎𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐤𝐡’s ‘𝓣𝓱𝓮 𝓖𝓪𝓻𝓭𝓮𝓷’ has been slowly capturing minds and hearts, an incredibly layered an dense night record, haunting arpeggios that travel miles and miles.
Here is a video excerpt from Omar’s secret gig last summer in V.A. garden with a couple of janky toy walkie talkie, ‘80 Siel organ, 200m of electric wire and a cassette player’.

Local Service joins forces with the experimental music ecosystem @box_of_tangerine for the first open-air daytime happening of the season, set in the unique space of Cascinet, a hidden green oasis in East Milan.

At sunset, multidisciplinary artist @_omarcheikh , fresh from a new release on Maple Death Records,sets the vibe with a live performance rooted in low frequencies, noise, and abstract sonic environments.

He is followed by Fera (@suonidisorganizzati )from the Undicesimacasa collective. Moving between Bologna and Rome, he energizes parties and concerts, weaving together sound practice with visual and graphic work. In his live sets, Fera brings along simple machines to shape disorganized sounds.

Closing the event is @heavenphetamine , a Japanese duo who blend 1970s psychedelic rock with elements of post-punk and acid house, with subtle influences of traditional Japanese music woven throughout.
Minimalist yet finely crafted drumming meets playful, dynamic keyboard melodies that grow increasingly driving and ecstatic over the course of the songs. It’s a beautiful feeling that makes you want to dance.

A vinyl, cd, tape, zine, clothes market area will be waiting for you in the garden throughout the day.

Food for Thought - Half Half, a dinner by Omar Cheikh.

On December 10th, Mouhit invites cook and artist Omar Cheikh (@_omarcheikh) , who works with sound and drawing, for a special edition of Food for Thought, our monthly fundraiser dinner supporting our art space.
For Half Half, Omar focuses on the figures of the Bâtard, the Mule and the Half blooded, representing mixed and in-between identities. He cooks from this space of overlap, where things do not fully belong to one side or the other. The menu comes from personal food memories, mixed influences from Tunisia and Italy and the small contradictions that shape the way he cooks.

The dinner will include a listening session with sound prepared by Omar. Join us for an evening of food and sound built around the idea of being in between and embracing it.

All funds collected will go toward supporting Mouhit Space and its ongoing artistic activities.

ìفي الماء/nell’acqua is 55 minute mix of music that bridges different glimpse of the Mediterranean and abroad, It features wobbling loops, distorted broken beats, bass driven songs, personal edits, audio excerpts, and dusty melodies.

Omar Cheikh, 1996, works with drawing and sounds. He has collaborated with several independent and self-productions projects like kuš!, Det Grymma Svärdet, Samandal, Futuro Arcaico, Enterpress, Tocca il futuro and more. He's part of Titivil, a gallery, bookshop and studio space based in Bologna.

‘The cover is an old picture of me and my mum standing under the sun of Les Grottes de Bizerte (TN). In these times nostalgia is a privilege and my thoughts are with those who cannot have it. Free Palestine.’
