Our final artist announcement for tomorrow night is the incredible Naycab!

Naycab is a Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta writer and DJ whose sets are shaped by storytelling, grounded in place and in the connection between the DJ as performer and the dancefloor as community.

Sonically, Naycab is known for high-energy blends that move through percussive bass, left-field electro, techno, breaks, house and acid, with a clear commitment to championing Black and queer producers and honouring dance music’s lineage through deep-digging selections.

They began DJing in 2022 and have since supported international artists including INVT, Jyoty and Saliah, alongside local favourites such as Dameeela, DJ PGZ, Bertie and Sleep D.

We truly cannot wait, you’ll want to come down early for this 🌟🌟

Tune in to ♡ Sick Sad Social Club ♡@area3000.radio tonight from 8PM-9PM AEST 18/05/26.

On episode 7 I’m joined by friend and creative thinker Joel @itsjoelyeah

Joel has a diverse background spanning creative and litigious fields. He is interested in space, sculpture, sound, and the interplay between these mediums. Unbound by the label of ‘artist’, his pursuits focus on building a life with community and creativity at its core.

We delve into Joel’s creative journey, his interest in architecture, his influences, his process and his recent sculptural work, ‘un:titled’, at un:send 2025/26 (see pictured).

In this week’s episode, I’m excited to bring you a guest mix curated by @_naycab !

naycab is a Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri, and Yorta Yorta DJ based in Naarm. Known for their signature blend of percussive bass and left-field electro, they are a regular selector across the country, gracing both packed club rooms and dusty festival dance floors.

They have brought their energy to major festivals like Strawberry Fields, Sonder, Pitch, and un:send, and have shared lineups supporting international artists such as Sally C, Jyoty, INVT, Octo Octa and Eris Drew - building a solid reputation as a dynamic selector for any setting.

Outside the dancefloor, naycab has a background as an essayist, screenwriter and community worker. We’re so excited to have them on!! 🫶

naycab is a Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri, and Yorta Yorta DJ based in Naarm. Known for their signature blend of percussive bass and left-field electronics, they are a regular selector in clubs and festivals across the country. A regular across Melbourne's venues and dusty festival dance floors such as Strawberry Fields, Sonder, Pitch, un:send and support for Sally C, Jyoty, INVT, Octo Octa and Eris Drew they have built a reputation as a dynamic selector for all settings. Outside the dancefloor they have a background as an essayist, screenwriter and community worker. The rave-to-rally pipeline is real.

Off the back of playing b2b with D Tyrone as support for Octo Octa and Eris Drew at their iconic T4T Luv Energy at Misc, naycab is thrilled to take us on a longer sonic journey weaving the bonds between old school and contemporary techno.

6 years ago Angel Music Bar played host to our huge UMAMI X LeFag x Vapor Nein collab night, to those who attended IYKYK. This time, we’re taking over the whole venue to give you some of that UMAMI flavour you didn’t know you needed. And in honour of our sister DJ Brigida who tore up the closing set last time, we’re keeping our lineup upstairs trans and proud just for her. Keep fighting the good fight, and we’ll see you all on the dancefloor.

We respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land we hold this event on, and pay respects to its elders, past and present - but also pay respects and offer our love to the First Nations community here, including those who attend the night, sovereignty was never ceded. // First Nations please email in before the night to ensure your free entry: stevzaar@gmail.com.

High energy synergy is the calling card of siblings @_naycab & @dj_pgz.

The siblings Naycab (Gunai/Kurnai, Gunditjmara, Wiradjuri & Yorta Yorta) and DJ PGZ (Gunai/Kurnai & Yorta Yorta) are artists responsible for shaping a whole new set of sounds across so-called Australian dance music, with appearances everywhere from its biggest stages to its most intimate settings.

Today, we share the duo’s back-to-back appearance at un:send Festival 2025. An occasion marked and celebrated as a gathering of some of the country & the world’s best and most forward-thinking artists, with Naycab & DJ PGZ at the helm of the event’s first sunset.

In un:send’s own words, the siblings “break barriers and move bodies where dance serves as a unifying force of (re)connection.”

Listen to the mix in full via our linkinbio.

🖤💛♥️
