Midori, The Camellia Girl “Can an innocent little girl survive in a world of monsters?” — @_federicazotti | Magütt Publishing | Besides representing one of the most significant works of the ero-guro-nansensu genre, the 1992 work by master Hiroshi Harada is among the most disturbing and visionary animated films ever created in the Land of the Rising Sun.
Starting from the historical-cultural and traditional context from which Harada’s work takes its cues, F.Z. constructs a careful and unprecedented reading of Midori, offering the reader insights, reflections, and openings for a careful and conscious understanding of the film.

The texts, originally published on @phroom_platform between 2019 and 2022, have been collected, expanded, and reworked here.

Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep is the latest project by @_federicazotti , an artist whose practice explores the codification, representation, and disciplining of sexuality.

Through works that intertwine memory, desire, play, and ritual, Zotti constructs a fragmented and symbolic bodily imaginary—hovering between the playful and the unsettling.

During the finissage, a performance will once again activate the space, opening up to a more ephemeral and embodied dimension.

For the occasion, Midori – The Camellia Girl (1987–1992) by Hiroshi Harada will be available, featuring a new critical interpretation by Zotti ( Magutt Publishing x @phroom_platform ). Other titles by @aleferraro666 and @matteocremonesi_studio —on abstraction, body horror, and socio-political critique through cinema—will also be presented.
