People always say Koforidua has a different kind of energy. Calmer. Less rush. Less noise. The kind of place that makes you slow down without even planning to.

And honestly?
After this wedding…. we get it.
Coming from busy schedules, noise, traffic, fast constant movement and everything feeling like it needs to happen now now now 😭 coming to Koforidua for the weekend felt different.

The drive felt slower even though it was very late and foggy
The air felt calmer.
Things didn’t feel rushed.

And somehow, that matched the wedding perfectly.

Good people.
Good energy.
Beautiful moments.

The kind where you stop thinking about content for a second and just appreciate where you are.

We came for a wedding.

KOFTOWM DIARIES SEASON 2 : EP 2❤️

Did you know apparently, Koforidua got its name from a tree.
Story goes that years ago, there was a man called Kofi Ofori who lived around a big tree where traders and travelers would stop to rest before continuing their journey. Over time, people started saying they were going to “Kofi Ofori’s dua (tree)” and somehow, years later, that became Koforidua.

Crazy how something so big started from something so simple.
Standing here filming this wedding, it felt a little familiar.
Because love is usually like that too.
It starts small.
A random conversation.
An “I’ve reached home” text.
A friendship that stays longer than expected.
A person that slowly becomes your person.
Then one day, somehow, people are dressed up, aunties are emotional, friends are screaming during the entrance, somebody’s fixing a tie last minute, and two people are standing in front of everyone promising forever ❤️

Koforidua gave us good weather, beautiful moments, and one reminder we’ll probably carry for a while
The best things don’t always start big.
Sometimes they start quietly.
Sometimes… under a tree ❤️

All too soon the first part of Elizabeth and Ishmael has come to an end ❤️

What a journey we had from being stranded at Ayimensa toll booth at 11 PM to having to pay double the ride price to convince the driver to take us to Aburi
Open arriving at the station there was only one taxi available as at 11:55 PM
With all our hopes on just one taxi he finally gave in and decided to drive us from Aburi to koforidua after carefully weighing the risk involved
We set off on the on an 1 hour 15 minute journey to koforidua on a careful, steady and dark road filled with fog and no road insight
By nearly escaping what would have been a fatal accident if the driver hadn’t realize that there was a big branch that had broken and was lying in the middle of the road
Carefully and steady, we continued the ride
At around 2AM, we finally came to our destinationsafe yet extremely tired
One would have asked why didn’t we just set off at dawn well with a Call time of 6:30am we just had to take risk not to miss any moment
These are the moments we risk to capture
