Think birds are surf fans?
If so, they’ve got the best seat in the house. Especially when @rob_machado is in the water.

Big thanks to Axxe Wetsuits @axxeclassic for providing the highest quality wetsuits, if you know Japanese rubber, you know.
Another project complete, now live on @nobodysurf (Link in my bio) It was a long process. We were originally supposed to shoot somewhere else, directed by the talented Madison Isbell. However, due to a tragic reason, we had to cancel at the last minute. Since Rosie, Keoki from Hawaii, and I were already in California, ready for the trip, we decided to search for a new location.
After looking at the weather forecast and flight prices, we decided to jump on a plane. We found a decent place on Airbnb to stay, close to the waves. Unfortunately, a hurricane was passing through during the first few days (we new about it), which forced us to stock up on food and water as we waited in the apartment for the storm to pass.
Once the weather improved, we began filming as much as we could, even without a clear direction since Madison was no longer part of the project. We did our best, and the entire process continued during the editing phase. We had to gather all the clips and find a cohesive meaning in the footage, a tough exercise for all of us. Annika, Madison, and I had multiple callsand months of work to finally get there.
That process and story became Common Language, and it was truly a learning experience that I will never forget! It’s all about the journey!
