Throughout history, the temptress is cast as dangerous because of her allure. Delilah, a well-known figure from the Hebrew Bible and an early femme fatale, symbolizes in my opinion this fear of female power—punished for using agency while those who objectify her remain unquestioned. I’ve always tried to challenged this double standard with in my craft.
