I went with a full CPP setup β€” mini subframe, upper and lower control arms, sway bar, steering box, and front disc brake conversion. Paired it with Viking coilovers and 2” drop spindles to get the stance and drivability where I wanted it.

Out back is a CPP narrowed rear leaf spring lowering setup, which let me run an 8” wide wheel with a 245 tire with no rubbing and no mini-tub, which was huge for keeping the car simple and usable. I’m also running CPP headers, which fit clean with the suspension and didn’t create any clearance headaches.

The car drives super tight and handles awesome β€” way more confidence than stock, and it finally feels like everything is working together instead of fighting itself.

Viking Performance, Inc. specializes in high performance shock absorbers and struts, high travel coil-over springs, rod end and spherical bearings, and related items. Viking was founded in 2011 by owners with more than 50 years of hands-on experience in the racing and performance aftermarket. Viking saw an opportunity, as there was a huge shortfall in the number of double adjustable shock absorbers being used in the marketplace. Many consumers were settling for non-adjustable or single adjustable shocks, primarily due to cost considerations, when they would achieve exponentially better performance with double adjustable shocks. The majority of the market was lacking the ability to optimize the shock settings on their vehicles since they didn’t have access to adjust both compression and rebound independently; therefore, they were stuck with an overall ride quality and performance that was far from great. To optimize performance and ride quality, the compression and rebound valving must be independently tuned – hence the name β€œdouble adjustable”. Viking’s mission was to make double adjustable shock absorbers attainable for all. By only focusing on double adjustable shock absorbers, Viking is able to keep prices down at or near the competitions’ single adjustable shocks, thereby providing the customer with an exponentially better shock for the same dollars out of pocket.

One of several projects we finished up in the last few weeks was this 1970 Olds 98. This Olds came to us out of Indiana completely stock and the owner wanted it to handle and perform better. With some modifications and fabrication we made all that happen. We work with so many great companies that help make our customers dreams come true.

🏁 Wilwood Brakes
🏁 Griffin Performance Radiator
🏁 Ridetech Coil-Over Suspension

Aaron was the lead technician, Kyle took on the fabrication along with Matt and Mike was there for the assist on the mechanical side with Aaron.

Our entire staff gets involved with these jobs but more importantly we are blessed to have great customers. One of several projects we finished up in the last few weeks was this 1970 Olds 98. This Olds came to us out of Indiana completely stock and the owner wanted it to handle and perform better. Aaron was the lead technician, Kyle took on the fabrication along with Matt and Mike was there for the assist on the mechanical side with Aaron.

Our entire staff gets involved with these jobs but more importantly we are blessed to have great customers. The owner, Jerome, was involved in every step of the way and would make the drive up from Indiana for a progress visit. His excitement and enthusiasm always energized the team when he would visit.
