Come out and square dance at the @shapeshifterlab on May 21st! Bring friends and family and learn how to “do-si-do”, “rip and snort,” and more. Alex “Sargent Seedoo” Udis @sargentseedoo will call and teach all dances.
Dance to the tunes of award-winning old-time and bluegrass string band musicians Jennifer Wilkin @jwil_fiddle , Andrea Asprelli @atowndretown , A’yen Tran @ayen_bass , Dave Speranza @davesperanza ,joebass @studio808a , James Shipp @jamesshippmusic and friends.

Every dance will be taught and beginner-friendly. No experience or partner necessary.

M2duO debuts a high-energy program blending Argentine tango, reimagined Japanese oldies, and original songs.

Celebrating 25 years of collaboration, M2duO—violinist Machiko Ozawa and pianist Makia Matsumura—reimagines Argentine tango through their signature interpretations of Japanese oldies and original compositions. Influenced by Astor Piazzolla, the duo’s sound reflects Ozawa’s international tango career and Matsumura’s improvisational work as a silent film accompanist.
