It’s been a busy winter focused mostly on work and the mountains, so coming into the Mint I honestly didn’t know what to expect. Built the bike up in Durango last week, pointed the truck toward Las Vegas, and decided to give it a go.

Two days before the race I ended up getting pretty sick, which meant a steady rotation of DayQuil and NyQuil just to make it to the start line. Race morning definitely wasn’t ideal, but the bike was ready and there were a lot of people who helped me get here — so it was time to put the head down and get to work.

Really grateful to fight through it and come away with P2 in Pro Ironman. The Mint never gives anything away — you have to earn every mile out there — and the level of competition and community at this race is always something special.
