A love letter to the “overly ambitious”

Me personally, I was never taught rest, it was always hustle hustle hustle. This is true for most artist, entrepreneurs, and content creators.

While hustle culture helped me for means of survival in the beginning, it would grow to cause stress & even worse... burn out.

To avoid another inevitable burnout I had to change not only how I thought about rest but my relationship with rest as a whole.
What I’ve learned is that Rest is Work. In order to keep your ambitions alive, we must rest and recharge so we can continue to to show up the way we need.

As some one who basically hoards work/content I needed a way to showcase some of the work that I didn’t have the chance to post in real time. Introducing the Unreleased Series.

Earlier this year I had the chance to connect with @spikedwellness in collaboration with @nikela @niketraining @insidethenout for a special event that focused on the mind, body, and soul of a group of amazing women and leaders in the community.

This was a perfect start to a Spiked Summer and it also turned out to be a perfect send off to the Spiked Wellness team and family as the founder @bri.monee has since closed their doors ending a beautiful chapter.

Although the doors to the location are closed the community remains the same. Which reminds me that it’s perfectly natural and right for things to begin and end. The ending of one chapter is just the beginning of a new one, don’t ever be afraid to do amazing things and decide to leave when the time is right. Everything has its time and we should celebrate all the things we’ve done!

Side note this is some of my favorite content that I have done this year. As a hybrid shooter (photo & video) it’s always special to be able to capture both in one space… it truly embodies my favorite form of storytelling.

Earlier this year I had the chance to connect with @spikedwellness in collaboration with @nikela @niketraining @insidethenout for a special event that focused on the mind, body, and soul of a group of amazing women and leaders in the community.

This was a perfect start to a Spiked Summer and it also turned out to be a perfect send off to the Spiked Wellness team and family as the founder @bri.monee has since closed their doors ending a beautiful chapter.

Although the doors to the location are closed the community remains the same. Which reminds me that it’s perfectly natural and right for things to begin and end. The ending of one chapter is just the beginning of a new one, don’t ever be afraid to do amazing things and decide to leave when the time is right. Everything has its time and we should celebrate all the things we’ve done!

Side note this is some of my favorite content that I have done this year. As a hybrid shooter (photo & video) it’s always special to be able to capture both in one space… it truly embodies my favorite form of storytelling.
