We’re very proud to have EarthPercent on the Tedx stage - created and devised by @sophiashnapp who’s been a force of nature in the team.

As she explains, music has ALWAYS moved us. But what if it could move something more? After a decade inside climate policy, Sophia realised something simple: policy alone doesn’t shift systems. Culture does.

And music, one of our most powerful cultural forces, already runs on a model of shared value. Our co-founders @brianeno, @hirokishirasuka and @callanadam asked: what if the Earth had a seat at the table?

That’s why EarthPercent exists. To channel the immense power of music to the Earth: and giving her back a cut. Artists and music companies are now pledging a percentage of their income, from touring, recordings, songwriting, back to the living world.

We had to share this beautiful example of music for life on our planet. Natural World is composed by @pete_wyer_composer and performed by choirs from all around the world. It celebrates the life of David Attenborough, and his 'witness statement' that calls for a stark change in our relationship with nature to preserve life for future generations.

This is my song ‘All We Are’, written for @earthpercent & @museumfortheun’s @soundsright.earth initiative. The initiative works with artists to release songs that feature NATURE as an artist, with 50% of royalties going back to nature conservation projects

Throughout the set, I weave the voice of audio naturalist Martyn Stewart (@mijdog) in and out of my music. Through his words, and comparisons between both of our sound recordings taken in the same locations approximately 50 years apart, we learn how much we’ve impacted the natural world, and how important it is to remember that we are a part of it. I feel so proud to have worked with Martyn and his organisation @the_listening_planet
