A limited, collectable print edition.
To celebrate our diamond jubilee, Issue 60 becomes est living’s first official print edition after fifteen years of digital publishing. The edition brings together some of the world’s most recognised voices who have shaped the platform’s evolution — including our inaugural Hall of Fame recipients Vincent Van Duysen, John Pawson, Faye Toogood, Norm Architects and Vincenzo De Cotiis — alongside the esteemed 10 for 2026: Australia’s most influential residential architects and designers, as well as global multidisciplinary designers working across interiors, spatial and product design.
Beyond these exclusive conversations, the issue explores Design Instinct inside six exceptional homes, outside with garden editor Will Dangar’s latest interview, and on our podcast episode with Flack Studio founder and principal David Flack.

Inside a Reimagined Queenslander by Samantha Leigh Interiors
Spanning three levels, Elystan is a reinterpretation of the traditional Queenslander, shaped by natural light and a continual relationship with its subtropical surrounds, expressed through earthy interior choices. The vision for the home began long before the owners had the keys, having lived opposite the leafy Brisbane corner block for years before it became available — arriving with a clear understanding of the home's potential and a collaborative relationship with Samantha Leigh Interiors formed from the outset.

Step Inside a Mid-Century Modern Home by Davidov Architects
Amongst a leafy mid-century streetscape, LDS II Residence by Davidov Architects transforms two adjacent homes into a single, cohesive family residence — without adding a single square metre. In Caulfield North, where parquetry floors carry decades of family life and granite thresholds have greeted generations of guests, the question was never how to start fresh — but how to bring two histories gracefully together.

Three for #MelbourneDesignWeek, and one with a workshop still to come.
@tactile_dialogues, Tactile Dialogues: Fragments of Matter, curated by @ryanfernandesdesign and presented by @madebymorgen in Brunswick. Ten Australian makers across ceramics, glass and bioplastics, with an opening that folded a Mauritian-inspired dinner with @manze_melbourne directly into the exhibition.
@kloke, Future Comfort, Little Collins Street. A chair made from Kloke’s textile remnants and timber offcuts, built with rope artist @smalltown and joiner Scott McCormack. On Saturday morning, Sarah Parkes hosts a rope-making session in-store. 10 to 11:30am, $10 with proceeds to the ASRC.
@skupafurniture x @elliat.rich, Material Truths, at @kennedy_nolan in Fitzroy. SKUPA’s solid timber pieces alongside the work of Elliat Rich, grounded in Mparntwe (Alice Springs). Furniture as a structure for gathering, not performance. In residence until Saturday, 10am to 4pm.

Step Inside a Mid-Century Modern Home by Davidov Architects
At LDS II Residence, the starting point wasn't a blank slate — it was two adjacent houses, each carrying its own history, and the question of how to bring them gracefully together.
Davidov Architects identified existing elements worth honouring: oak parquetry floors, honed Juparana granite, a timber-lined staircase, and brass hardware with its own quiet patina. Where materials could not be matched, blended pink and red marbles in a gridded Palladiana pattern step in; where natural light could not reach, wall-to-wall illuminated stretch ceilings dissolve formerly dark interiors into calm, evenly-lit environments.
