Last Sunday I left with a full heart, an antique ceramic pot for our garden gnome Lutz Bloom to pop a squat on, and some heirloom vegetable plants. What a ride it’s been DJing this market and watching it become such a staple in the community.

The Kansas City Art Institute’s (KCAI) biggest party of the year is back, transforming campus into a festival filled with outdoor art installations, student performers, live music, drag, food and drinks ahead of the weekend-long End of Semester Exhibition + Sale.

📍 Mini Golf at the Museum — April 10–October 25

Play nine unique holes, each offering a creative spin on masterpieces from the Nelson-Atkins collection.

📍 The Great Gatsby — May 8–17

The Kansas City Ballet pays tribute to the Jazz Age with a reimagining of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic story through music and dance.

📍 Crossroads Flea — May 10

Treat Mom to one of KC’s best breakfast sandwiches — plus coffee and cocktails — before shopping local produce and flowers, artisan-made goods, vintage gems and more.

📍 Water Lantern Festival — May 9

Write down your hopes and dreams before watching hundreds of glowing lanterns drift across the park’s pond at dusk.
