I had a great time celebrating the incredible work @cpc_nyc does in Queens at their AAPI Heritage Month Gala last night! Special congratulations to Leona Chin of Kissena Synergy, who was one of the honorees. In addition to being an amazing stewards of one of the best parks in Queens, her groupsupports food pantries, soup kitchens, and numerous community events.

Due to an ongoing @nycddc infrastructure project in the area, there will be temporary water shutdowns on Saturday, May 30, from 8AM to 4PM on 31st Road from Linden Place to 137th Street & 137th Street from 31st Road to 32nd Avenue.

Public safety is one of the top concerns I hear about from residents every day, whether it’s quality-of-life issues, traffic safety, illegal activity, or ensuring our neighborhoods remain safe. Strong communication between elected officials and law enforcement is essential to addressing those concerns, so I appreciate Chief Russell Green, the new commanding officer of Patrol Borough Queens North, for visiting my office to discuss how we can work with his team and our local precincts to address them.

Thank you to @nycparks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura for taking a tour of Kissena Corridor Park with me. The park has some amazing natural and secluded areas that in the past have also been the site of some horrific crimes. We discussed ways to make it safer without destroying the natural beauty.

The freedoms we enjoy every day are possible because of the sacrifices made by veterans, and we want to make sure that every vet in our community is aware of the benefits and resources they have earned for their service. This week I took part in Foster Youth Shadow Day at City Hall with @fosteringyouthsuccessalliance. It was a pleasure to spend the day with Anqin, show her around City Hall, and give her an inside look at how our local government works.

On a rainy Thursday morning, we broke ground on a project to renovate the playground and courts in Captain Mario Fajardo Park at Kissena & Booth Memorial Avenue. The $5.6 million project – funded by the @queensbprichards and @nyccouncil - should be complete by March 2027.
