Most people do not enter tech through the path they first imagined.
Our new 42 Germany video brings together voices from @42berlin_ , @42heilbronn and @42wolfsburg , reflecting on the moments that made them rethink their direction, step away from the expected route, and choose a different way into tech.
All three campuses share the same 42 learning model: peer-to-peer, project-based, and gamified. The core method stays the same, but each campus brings its own local ecosystem and community dynamic, which gives the experience a different character in practice.

After spending the opening night of Mai ist für AI talking about trust, systems, and what AI actually needs to be worth relying on, we turned the lights off.
Three artist improvised one unrepeatable piece that combined dance, live electronic music, and body projection mapping. The kind of thing that only happens when human artists are in the same room, responding to each other in real time.

Last week, 150+ people gave up their Wednesday evening to think seriously about AI. Most left with more questions than answers.
We consider that a success.
We opened Mai ist für AI at 42 Berlin with one simple question: what does AI actually need to be worth trusting? Hands went up, then came back down. Almost everyone uses it. Almost no one trusts it with anything that really matters. Turns out that’s a pretty good place to start a conversation.
We do mAI for exactly that reason. Not to hype AI, not to bury it. Just to make space for the kind of conversation that’s harder to find than it should be.
See you at the next one! 😉

3rd in the world. For the second year in a row. 🏆
The 2026 WURI Rankings are out, and 42 ranks 3rd among the world’s most innovative educational institutions, ahead of Stanford, MIT, and CalTech.
WURI ranks one thing: innovation. How institutions teach, how their methods scale, and how much real impact they create.
42 Berlin and @42wolfsburg are part of this global network of 50+ campuses. Same methodology, same rigour, same belief that education needs to keep reinventing itself.
To everyone who teaches, learns, debugs, evaluates, and shows up on campus, this one’s yours. 💛

Last Thursday, several students from 42 Wolfsburg and @42berlin_ joined the Future Leader Summit and the @ChefTreff Hackathon. For the teams involved, this was an intensive dive into rapid prototyping and cross-institutional collaboration.
Here is a breakdown of the work they did:
Team 42WOBER | Finanz Informatik Challenge
Kristin, Zhibek, Clemens, Jan, and Aleksandre focused on using generative AI as a bridge between business and tech. They developed a prototype designed to explain technical code changes to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that business requirements and technical implementation stay aligned.
Team Saucerers | BCG Platinion Challenge
Mika, Ole, and Johannes teamed up with students from CODE Berlin, Uni Hamburg, and Uni Bielefeld. They tackled the fragmentation of patient data by building a health-tracking prototype. Their solution consolidates data into a "longevity score" and uses an AI chatbot to turn passive health data into direct actions like scheduling appointments.
Team Eurogate Challenge
The team worked in a randomized group to tackle the challenge of forecasting electricity demand for refrigerated containers. This process served as a practical lesson in the reality of data cleaning—an essential step before any predictive modeling can happen. Despite technical hurdles, the focus remained on handling logistics data and using LLMs to develop a reliable forecast for high-load hours at the terminal.
The hackathon reinforced a vital perspective: AI is a powerful collaborator, but it does not replace core logic and architectural thinking. At 42, we learn how to use these tools to enhance human teamwork rather than substitute it.
Congratulations to everyone who represented 42 Wolfsburg and took on these challenges.

Our campus was buzzing yesterday as we hosted our latest Employability Day. It wasn’t a standard career fair; it was a day of active career-building for active job seekers and those orienting themselves for the future
What happened:
Peer-to-Peer: Alumni panels sharing the transition from 42 to companies like ITU Consult, New Yorker, Delivery Hero & CGI.
Industry Insights: Direct access to recruiters and engineers from CARIAD, Siemens Energy, and Salzgitter AG.
Skill Level-up: Intensive workshops on applications and public speaking.
We are incredibly grateful to all our partners who spent the day with us, providing the "Code in Context" our students need to succeed.
A massive thank you to VW Group, CARIAD, ITU Consult, InternationalABLE Initiative, Salzgitter AG, and Siemens Energy for the honest insights and networking at the booths.
Big shout-out to to Julia for the perfect coordination of the day!

Our March Piscine has officially begun. 🚀
Yesterday, over 170 newcomers walked through the doors of 42 Berlin to begin the ultimate adventure. To break the ice, we asked two simple questions: How are you feeling? and What’s an interesting fact about the person next to you?
The emotional spectrum in the room was quite impressive. Alongside ecstatic, focused, and serene, we also heard scarented, eepy, boop-beep, and the clear winner: bumbblefuzzed.
From the neighbor facts we learned that in this one room there is:
🎬 a former movie director and a circus performer
🌊 a researcher exploring underwater caves
🎹 musicians, marathon runners, and a Rubik’s cube speed-solver
⛰️ someone who climbed Kilimanjaro on a school trip
To all our bumbblefuzzed, eager, and fascinating new swimmers: welcome to 42 Berlin. 🤗
Introduce yourselves, lean on each other when the terminal gets confusing, and remember that collaboration is everything.
Good luck over the next 26 days! You’ve got this. 💙🏊♀️
