A year ago, I took some time away from video creation to focus on my fine art, building for first the first time a real body of work of 35mm prints + hand laid gold leaf.

The series is called “Fault Lines” (thank you @elsheldo and @fitchwork), as the gold leaf mimics the lines that exist within nature. To me they also represent our internal instincts, or perhaps pre-determined paths - both something inescapable yet something to take comfort in knowing we can trust.

Many have yet to be on view, and I hope to have a place for them soon! In the meantime, you can bid on one and one only at the @artsgowanus #PatternsGala and fundraiser - online or in person at tomorrow’s gala!

Thank you to @anacvallejo and @pictonewyork for your guidance and impeccable printing without which these larger works would not be possible.

This is a lifetime practice that is just beginning, so stay tuned for more! (Will probably post more updates through my film account @sometimesitgrains).

My sister gave me some @sunbath.filmlab for Christmas last year, carried all the way from Paris. Created from cinema film stock, cut into 35mm and therefore requiring an ECN-2 developing process, the colors and exposure are different than I’ve ever worked with. Developed at @mononoawarefilm, shot on my @pentax_us #k1000.

My sister gave me some @sunbath.filmlab for Christmas last year, carried all the way from Paris. Created from cinema film stock, cut into 35mm and therefore requiring an ECN-2 developing process, the colors and exposure are different than I’ve ever worked with. 80 degrees in September, in which @sawyer_roque eats a hot dog and I captured my first ever Super-8 frames on a Minolta 64 XL. Thanks to @mononoawarefilm for the EQ & guidance, can’t wait to spend more time with the camera.
