we’ve got a new single dropping in a couple of days called “Precious Coffee Moments.” there’s a premiere of the track that you can listen to RIGHT NOW on @bigtakeovermag, see the link in our bio.

this song is a foray into some Bowie-influenced 70s glam rock for us. sonically, it’s a return to the maximalism of Definitely Band: lots of intricately layered guitars and keyboards with super groovy drumming from @kynwynmusic. this is also the first Curling recording featuring @quickdra on bass! we wanted to go for a Beach Boys vibe where the vocals are super melodic, but the lyrics are sad and dark. the end of the song features a synth solo by @_arrex that sounds like Rick Wakeman auditioning for The Cars.

also, shoutout to @grahampatzner for tickling the keys (piano, organ, and wurly!) for us.

sunday, july 13 will be the FINAL bay area show before I move to austin. Jojo and I will still be back occasionally to record and play a 4-piece show or two, but this is likely the last time you’ll get to see this lineup of the 3-piece band.

I started this ‘local union’ lineup of Curling in 2024 after one of our Japan tours. it’s been so great playing shows regularly and being part of the community instead of just a studio rat band that releases an album once every five years and never plays shows! huge shoutout to @analogwolverine and @quickdra for making this possible and bringing all of this incredibly layered music to life ♥️

Last night @bottomofthehillsf was such a blast. Huge thanks to all the folks in @curling.band including @jojo.dulay @kynwynmusic and @analogwolverine … it has been so much fun to rock out with y’all this past year and I’m hella excited to see where it goes next!
