My work ‘Guardian of Nothing’ is showing @rodolphejanssen in Brussels as part of the group show ‘Secret Skins’.

The show is open until 4th July.

On Friday 20 March three live performances will inhabit for the last time the installation by Clementine Keith-Roach and Christopher Page, curated by Vittoria Bonifati and presented at Villa Lontana’s new space in Trastevere.

LUKI, Emiliano Maggi and Michele Ferrari will activate the space through distinct sonic languages—songs stretched into theatrical atmospheres, ritual voices and electronics, and layered tape manipulations.

Throughout the evening, a limited edition series of Bar Far glasses will be available for purchase.

Doors open at 8:30pm.

On Sunday 8 February, poet Jahan Khajavi and filmmaker and artist Ben Russell will animate Bar Far by Clementine Keith-Roach and Christopher Page.

Khajavi’s poetry inhabits a zone where devotion and obscenity, lyricism and bodily candour, coexist without hierarchy. His voice moves through fragments of ritual, desire and autobiography, treating language as a tactile material—something to be tasted, wounded and adorned. Bar Far can be imagined as the metaphysical set of an unwritten film. Through modular synthesis and live manipulation, Russell will treat the installation as a resonant stage set, producing its own hallucinated soundtrack.

With Bar Far, the lines between the arts blur—sculpture blends with architecture while painting makes it disappear—and trompe-l’œil trickery confuses our sense of what is made of what.

My quote was about transformation and how I allow for reverie to emerge out of the chores of daily life . As I currently sift through my bank statements doing my tax return I am reminded of the quote I shared with Katy - each receipt tells a story , memories surface with every transaction I log - this mind-numbing task becomes deeply reflective! Some people might call it getting sidetracked…. but to me creativity springs from unexpected places and often under constraint.

“Blurring the boundaries between architecture, social space, and sculpture, a new bar has arrived on the scene in Rome,” writes Kate Mothes in her article on @ClementineKeithRoach and @christopheropage’s site-specific installation for @thisiscolossal. “’Bar Far’ reimagines a traditional gallery, which happens to be the new location of @VillaLontana, into a visually mesmerizing meeting spot.”

Mothes continues, “In ‘Bar Far,’ Keith-Roach hybridizes her anatomical sculptures into tables, benches, and frames. Merging with the architecture, arms and legs bend around corners and lead viewers toward a rear arcade filled with moody, red-orange paintings by Page. Glowing from beyond a series of arches, echoing Renaissance arcades, his skies give the impression that the room floats in the air, or that someone could simply step out into the atmosphere.”
