We build bodyweight and core strength to support:
• Inversions
• Handstand pushups
• Press handstands
• Levers & planche work
This is about developing real control — not just holding shapes, but moving through them with power and intention.
Expect:

Duo Dance Lifts & Catches Workshop with Sam Alvarez @skycandyaustin

Learn how to safely and effectively perform partner lifts and catches. This class focuses on technique that helps you support your partner with less strain and more control.
We’ll cover:
* Butterfly lift & turn
* Spider catch
* Barrel turn lift
* Backpack lift
* Death Drop Spiral
You’ll also work toward combining the skills into a short piece of choreography. The goal is to make something that feels smooth and connected — even when the moves are big and athletic.
Prerequisites: No specific flexibility requirements, but students should be physically active with good joint health. Prior partnering experience is helpful but not required. Expect to support another person’s weight, and to perform repeated lunges and squats — so healthy knees and a healthy back are important.
