The first full-length trio record by Holland Andrews + Methods Body (Luke Wyland and John Niekrasz), REMAIN is a document of improvisation at the highest level: a radical act of love and trust. Emergent, urgent, and atmospheric art-pop that is grounded in humanity and concern, while occupying astral spaces and hypnagogic realms. Recorded by Katie Von Schleicher at Shahzad Ismaily's Figure 8 studios in Brooklyn, mixed and mastered by Aron Sanchez and Luke Wyland, and available on vinyl or digital from Whited Sepulchre Records. REMAIN is a lightning-in-a-bottle document –– the full-length, living outgrowth of a sold-out 2024 collaborative performance at NYC’s Issue Project Room by the trio of 2025 Guggenheim Fellow Holland Andrews and Portland, OR-based duo Methods Body (John Niekrasz and Luke Wyland).

Like the best improvised music, the pieces that comprise this record hardly feel off-the-cuff. Brimming with uncanny intersections of sleight-of-hand grooves and Holland’s deeply stirring vocalizations and lyrical, ecstatic keenings, this is improvisation at the highest level: a radical act of love and trust. The results are a kind of emergent, urgent, atmospheric art pop, grounded in humanity and concern, but occupying astral spaces and hypnagogic realms.

Early show! Saturday, 12/20, doors at 5, music 6-7:30 @ Holocene: Holland Andrews and yuniya edi kwon (NYC) will present an evening-length performance in quartet with local avant-sound artists Methods Body (John Niekrasz & Luke Wyland) brimming with sleight-of-hand grooves, soaring drones, microtones, and Holland’s deeply stirring vocalizations. This quartet combines violin, voice, keys, percussion, & electronics to conjure improvisation at the highest level: a radical act of love and trust. The results are an emergent, urgent, atmospheric art pop with the power to move the heart and mind.

2025 Guggenheim Fellows Holland Andrews and yuniya edi kwon (NYC) join Methods Body in quartet for the avant-music show of the year. Early show on Saturday, December 20th at Holocene. Doors at 5pm, music at 6.
