This was wedding #2 at Chicago Winery this month and Sam + Samantha brought every ounce of energy with them.

From a packed Horah to the best singalongs, and a dance floor that never really took a breath… this night was a masterclass in what happens when cultures, families, and music collide the right way.

There’s something really powerful about being asked a simple question… and answering it honestly on camera.

Last nightat @wipachicago educational event , @reneedalo put me on the spot during a live social media coaching segment and asked: “What’s your favorite part of the wedding day?”

And truthfully?
It’s the very end of the night.

The lights come on.
The music fades out.
And somehow 50–70% of the guests are still surrounding the couple on the dance floor.

That moment tells me everything.
It tells me the couple trusted the right team.
It tells me the night felt effortless for them.
It tells me every detail, every transition, every song choice, every collaboration came together exactly how it was supposed to.

Ironically, while I spend most weekends behind a microphone and in front of packed dance floors… showing up on camera as myself can still feel vulnerable sometimes. I think a lot of creatives understand that feeling.

We can confidently serve our clients all day long… but turning the camera on ourselves? Different story.

That’s what made Renée’s session so impactful. She has a gift for helping entrepreneurs feel comfortable enough to show up authentically, communicate clearly, and find their voice on camera without feeling forced. And honestly… she made it fun.

And what makes this one even more special… this was the first of three back-to-back weddings I performed at Chicago Winery within 8 days. Same venue. Three completely different couples. Three completely different stories.

Some nights feel less like an event… and more like a reunion that just needed the right soundtrack.

Last Saturday, @therichrockstars, @djdjones + @perrydontae brought the hybrid experience to Chicago’s Gold Coast for a private doctoral graduation celebration at @mapleandash.

Most of the guests flew in from Detroit, so the assignment was clear from the start:

Motown.
Soul.
Classic records that mean something.

The kind of music that makes three generations sing the same chorus together.

What started as an elegant dinner slowly turned into a full house party in the middle of Maple & Ash. No forcing the energy. No “club DJ” approach. Just reading the room, pacing the night correctly, and letting the music feel personal.

Then saxophonist @zhivkozhekovmusic stepped in and completely changed the temperature of the room.

That’s the part people don’t always see:
Luxury events aren’t about playing more music.
They’re about knowing exactly what moment the room is ready for next.

Chicago nights done properly just feel different.
