Having a dedicated space for production is AWESOME, no denials there. But with space and deadlines chaos is inevitable and every now and then we need to do more than just pack a conference and put it away. We need to recover the space and thus our sanity! #Eventproduction #conferences #workshop

Back when we were in school, or starting out as junior designers, the last thing we ever imagined doing was driving a moving truck to multiple cities whilst hosting conferences.

A good example of the many low brow mundane tasks that are indispensable for a unique experience at each conference. It is the sum of all the parts that makes each event uniquelyours and independently memorable.

An extra update on this Monday morning taken from our Brand New weekly newsletter:

“The big story of the week wasn’t a project but the unfortunate case that our server was hacked on Thursday and issues remained on Friday, affecting mostly how all of our domain behaved and appeared on mobile devices as the desktop versions were working perfectly fine. Then, we had a huge 🌧️ on Thursday and a good amount of water poured into our workshop. And last night we had 50 – 60mph 💨 plus sideways rain that knocked down a tree that then made a power box explode right behind our house and it sparked so bad a tree branch caught 🔥 but it was so cold and wet that it didn’t last long.

Naturally we lost power and are operating with a generator this morning. Sharing this just so that I have the excuse to say: When it rains, it pours, amirite?”

After a whirlwind tour in 2022 for @firstrounduc, we are keeping things simple for 2023 with only two events*: Denver, CO, on May 5 and Toronto, ON, on October 6. Registration for both in-person and remote access is now available as pre-sale with the most affordable prices possible before we announce speakers in early February for Denver and in early June for Toronto. At that time, registration will go into early-bird pricing.
