SOS on Your Wrist - Garmin’s first-ever watch with inReach life-saving technology.

Between location and character work, our crew in Vancouver was incredibly versatile to make each scene happen.

1. After a 4-hour Cessna scout, we found this Fjord on British Columbia’s Sunshine Coast. @downtofilm and @brodyjonescinema lined up this reveal right after sunrise when the light was balanced.
2. We planned to shoot the stylized/delirious beats with the Canon FD 50mm f/0.95 Zack Snyder Dream Lens. Once tested, it was actually too clean for our look, so @christopherclark___ built a custom 40mm lens for our moments of him on the ground.
3. Natural backlight paired with tube-of-death haze made this the perfect way to “spy in” on the runner, featuring his frantic POV.
4. This sequence is shot practically, in-camera and on location, without VFX. @brendanmegannety created a handmade foam-core board, painted and dressed to match the land for the watch’s impact.
5. @ethanmyers music and sound end us in the relief and magnitude of the rescue.

Moments of Dr. Renata Lewis suspended 150 feet below a helicopter in a Long Line rescue for @wearfigs

It was a real honor to dive into the world of Helicopter Flight Rescue with @airwolf_md and @nativefour for the FIGS Extremes Collection.

“The Golden Hour” - full film on Vimeo

1. Between fuel costs and unstable weather, we had less than a 30-minute window to capture Renata suspended from the Heli. Seven cameras were rolling, including a Helicopter tracking side by side with an Immortal camera system.

2. We fell in love with Mount Fee’s characteristics. Its uneasy and mysterious feeling reflects the story’s uncertainty and beauty. 

3. Coordinates and critical information from the distress call are often incorrect. To locate the subject, instincts take over. 

4 Life and death walk side by side in The Golden Hour. The film opens with a 60-minute countdown.

5. We wanted to portray Dr. Renata Lewis as the hero she rightfully is.

6. A splinter unit raced to the peak of Mount Fee at 5:30AM. The sun finally broke, and our stomachs sank... The light was just right. We had all been dreaming of this shot: we placed the Helicopter in the bowl of jagged rocks as the story’s “beacon of hope.”

It was a real honor directing Team Ireland’s campaign for the Paris 2024 Olympics. PTSB is the first-ever title sponsor of the Irish Olympic and Paralympic teams.

Working with Kellie Harrington, Rhys McClenaghan, Paul O’Donovan, Fintan McCarthy, Jordan Lee, and Nicole Turner was such an inspirational experience.

The charge was led by Ger Roe as we set out to tell the story of “The Human Behind the Athlete,” and I was lucky enough to develop the concept and script with Ivona Poljak and Isabel Harvey.

It was a real honor directing Team Ireland’s campaign for the Paris 2024 Olympics. PTSB is the first-ever title sponsor of the Irish Olympic and Paralympic teams.
