Congo continues to fight wars, displacement, hunger, and now another Ebola outbreak. A nation cannot keep surviving on resilience alone. The world must stop responding only when fear crosses borders. 🇨🇩

🚨🇨🇩BREAKING NEWS: Congo is facing another Ebola crisis.
In just a few weeks, more than 130 people have reportedly lost their lives as Ebola spreads again across different areas of Eastern Congo.
Panic is growing. Hospitals are under pressure, families are grieving. And countless children are living in fear without understanding why death keeps surrounding their communities.
The strain currently spreading is known as Bundibugyo. One of the most dangerous forms of Ebola.
There is still no approved vaccine specifically for this strain. No specific treatment . . No certainty for the families watching their loved ones suffer.
And this is happening in a region already wounded by conflict, displacement, hunger, and years of instability.
As people living in Congo, seeing this unfold again is heartbreaking.
Every day, innocent children continue walking through uncertainty. Some have already lost parents or relatives. Others are growing up surrounded by trauma before they are even old enough to understand the meaning of crisis.
After more than five decades of Ebola outbreaks in Central Africa, people are still dying from a disease the world has known about for years.
That reality says a lot.
For too long, African health emergencies have not received the same level of urgency, scientific investment, or global attention.
Yet Africa is not lacking intelligence. Africa is not lacking talent.
Across this continent, there are brilliant doctors, researchers, scientists, and young minds capable of transforming the future of healthcare and medical innovation.
The DR Congo and Africa as a whole, must continue building stronger laboratories, stronger healthcare systems, stronger scientific institutions, and more independent medical research focused on African realities.
Because our future cannot continue depending on whether the world decides to care or not.
The children of Congo deserve more than fear. They deserve protection, dignity. They deserve the chance to grow up and become the scientists, doctors, and leaders who will help change Africa forever.

Both DR Congo and Uganda are now facing Ebola outbreaks. The rate of people dying are rapidly increasing as WHO said there's no antivirus.
Eyes on them and pray for them, everyone. They need our voices too.

The story of Dogo Browny before joining Invisible Kids Academy ❤️
Before joining Invisible Kids Academy, Dogo Browny faced many challenges. Like many children affected by difficult circumstances, he experienced hardship, uncertainty, and moments without enough support. But despite everything, he kept his smile, his strength, and his dreams alive.
Invisible Kids Academy became a place of hope, where Dogo Browny could learn, play, express himself, and feel supported. His journey reminds us that every child deserves love, education, and the chance to build a better future.
Today, his story is not only about struggle — it is also about resilience, hope, and new beginnings.

This is an unbearable development in an already horrific crisis.
The reality is that the technologically advanced lives we live in the West are materially tied to extraction and suffering in the Congo. That should disturb us.
I know people get irritated when I speak about “negative” things, but distraction and comfort are exactly what allow systems of oppression to continue functioning uninterrupted.
It is our duty to care. Even in small ways. Learn. Speak. Donate. Stay aware. Do not let yourself become numb to human suffering just because it is geographically distant from you.

Count Étienne Davignon, the last surviving suspect implicated in the 1961 assassination of Congolese independence hero Patrice Lumumba, died on 18 May 2026 at the age of 93.
In March 2026, a Brussels court ordered Davignon to stand trial for war crimes.
Prosecutors accused the former diplomat of participating in the unlawful detention, illegal transfer, and “humiliating and degrading treatment” of Lumumba.
The charges also linked him to the murders of Lumumba’s political allies, Maurice Mpolo and Joseph Okito.
Davignon was the final living individual out of 10 Belgian officials targeted in a landmark 2011 lawsuit filed by Lumumba’s children.
Because criminal proceedings end with a suspect’s death under Belgian law, his passing officially shuts down the criminal case before it could go to trial.
Here’s a snippet from my full-length report, “Colorism: How The World Sees Us,” where I break down the reason why Congo is not being covered or valued in the same way as other people.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has officially declared the accelerating Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC).
The declaration follows a surge in infections linked to the rare Bundibugyo virus strain, which is highly lethal and currently has no approved vaccines, specific treatments, or standard field tests.
Health agencies report at least 88 deaths and over 336 suspected cases across the affected areas.
The outbreak originated in the remote, gold-mining town of Mongbwalu in the eastern Ituri Province of the DRC. It has since migrated to the provincial capital of Bunia, Rwampara, and the major eastern hub city of Goma.
The virus crossed into Uganda, where two cases have been laboratory-confirmed in the capital, Kampala, including one death.
A patient who travelled from Ituri to the DRC’s capital, Kinshasa, has also tested positive.
