I have so, so many thoughts.

How is it, that in the year 2025 skin whitening cream is still a thing?

Or that nine year olds are doing anti-aging skin care routines?

Or that most images are edited and filtered, so much so that we forget what real skin looks like? The texture, pores, bumps, scars, acne, freckles, and variations in color. 

As we celebrate #AANHPIheritagemonth I don't want to gloss over the colorism that exists within my own community, and that even with representation, only a small sliver of Asians (often pale, freckle free, east Asians) see themselves represented in books, TV, and the media.

The past two weeks have been BUSY! 🙃

I signed books for school visits, did several book events, somehow managed to buy more books even when I promised myself I wouldn't...whoops 🤭

A lot of people asssume being an author is a solitary endeavor. But I've found it to be quite the opposite. I have so many people in my corner: friends, family members, critique partners, editors, colleagues, my agent etc. It takes a team to create, sell, and promote a book.

I have surrounded myself with the most wonderful people and I am so thankful for all that they do ♥️
