You track every watt, every kilometre, every split. Now track your recovery with the same precision.

How well you recover today determines how well you perform tomorrow. FLOWBIO’s new Recovery Plan calculates exactly how much fluid and sodium you need to replace after every session, built on ACSM guidelines and your actual sweat data. Not a generic estimate. Your deficit, your targets, your recovery.

Your data doesn’t stop when your session does. Update your app now on the App Store and Google Play.

Penang. 30km. 2,000 metres of vertical. Some of the best sky runners in the game.

A year ago, @kristjans_running_sagas crossed the line in 5h15. This time, 3h55. Third overall.

💧3.84 litres lost. 🧂7408 mg of sodium. Numbers that shaped every decision on the mountain and every choice in recovery.

Our performance team has been working with Kristjan to understand his numbers in detail. The race, on it, and after it. What he loses. What he needs. When he needs it.

Eighty minutes is a long time. It is also exactly what happens when you stop guessing and start knowing.

Yorkshire doesn’t do sunshine. But race day might.

That’s the problem. Training in the cold, racing in the heat. Your hydration needs shift and a generic plan doesn’t move with them.

The FLOWBIO Sensor does. It reads my sweat data in every condition, so whether I’m grinding through a wet November ride or toeing the line somewhere warm, I know exactly what my body needs.

After a year working with FLOWBIO, I’m proud to be joining the performance team for 2026.

“For me it’s the best product on the market for practicality. The data it gives me means I don’t guess my hydration and it reacts to the environments I train and race in.”

Cramping up whilst you run in the heat?

I think a lot of runners have experienced some form of cramping during or after a run, especially in a tropical climate! I know I have!

Both the humidity and heat just leaves you in a state where you feel like you have just got out of a pool (at least I feel that way)!

Hydration is essential when it comes to running in the tropics, but its not just about water. When you sweat you also loose sodium (salt) a natural producing electrolyte in the body, playing a key role in muscle function!

Whist I was in Penang, I wore a sweat sensor by @sweatisdata to track how much fluid and sodium I was loosing in each run over the three days.

My numbers were high!

However, some runner loose more sodium than others and I am more on the higher end of sodium loss! That’s where electrolyte, like @striveco.my my can make a big difference, especially when running in the heat.

Dehydration (~ 2% of body weight loss) can impact endurance performance by 10%. Therefore, by having and following a hydration plan before you start your race can make a difference!

It’s also worth noting that research show neuromuscular fatigue plays a major role in cramping.

It’s not just hydration; strength training is just as important!

If cramping, strength or running training is something you are struggling with, drop me a PM and we can talk about it!
