Where do I even start? Matter of fact, I started in the Midwest. I’ve been on the East Coast and the West Coast, but the Midwest has always been home. Back in 2015, I remember sitting in the LES interviewing for a marketing position with adidas and then fast forward to early 2020, I receive an email from the same person who interviewed me offering me a shoe deal. This is a real full circle moment and a dream come true for me.
This shoe is inspired by what I remember from my childhood. I feel like I’m apart of the last generation that hung posters on the wall. Growing up, there was nothing like seeing the greats like Deion Sanders & Michael Jordan on posters everywhere and in their commercials. That’s the feeling I wanted to bring with this release. I also wanted to tell the story of my journey, but at the same time tell the story of every Midwest kid who has a dream. This is so much bigger than me and that’s why I chose to tell the story through others instead of putting myself in every part of this collaboration. Midwest kids are all over the world doing doing great things and still pouring back into where they came from.
This one is for us.
