I've never been good with diving in about personal stuff in a public way– writing this took forever. I'll probably butcher this so give me some room.... This photo by @meghanmcinnis is from Narrows at Cake Shop in 2010, and there's Rich at one of the zillions of shows we did together between 2007 - 2012 all over the country all over BK and the LES. I'd be @brooklynvegan and he was always @1000_.knives. Not to mention the very short lived label he and I tried (and I did). That's a lot of planning and scheming, a lot of being at the gig too early, even more shit-talking and a ton of jokes/fucking with each other at Matchless or wherever. I'll never forget all those good times and the millions of people I met through you. And even though working so closely meant its difficulties from time to time, it never affected the fact that I liked you and being around you- you were a great person and it's clear you are loved. Some good memories from that time. Rich Hall played no small part in good number of them. My heart goes out to @carriebot and their family and the underground music community here in NYC.

Spent all of yesterday thinking about @saintvitusbar while running my own show at @robertaspizza with @creemmag. The latter was a big success and thank you for coming if you did, it's definitely appreciated!

I started to go through some Vitus photos yesterday and just like my Roberta's gig, really didn't have that many! Because when you're having a good time, you obviously forget.

I'll miss the Manhattan Ave spot, but music will never die, and venues come and go. More than anything I'm thankful for the friendships and the memories made. But that's the best part, because those will never go away. Thanks for that @arthurjshepherd @gslades and @confinesworld

So for those of us mourning the loss of Manhattan Ave, just a reminder that a scene doesn't work without people. We were lucky enough to have THREE heavy music focused venues there for a while (@theacheronbk and @lucky13saloon) so never take that for granted. Get out there and start a club for yourself, or start a band or book shows or just show support. Because the real value is the friends and moments along the way.
